Hi, and welcome to my first Blog post!

It’s taken me a while, but I’ve finally found the time to update my website and add a Blog, so I now feel modernised!!

I thought I would start by giving you a bit of background history,  on how I began my photography career.

In 2001 I was working for a large Bank in Bournemouth, and although I enjoyed my job I couldn’t see me working there for years.  I’d always wanted to work for myself, so having already done a City & Guilds in photography and really enjoyed it, I decided to become a photographer, as you do!   I’ve always felt that life is too short, and think if you have a dream, and are in a position to do something about it, you should take a chance and go for it – at the time I was lucky enough to be able to.

I enrolled at Salisbury College to do a Degreee in photography, as I wasn’t at all technical (and I’m still not!)  and didn’t have a clue what  area I really wanted to specialise in.  Whilst at College I photographed weddings, friends, families, children, flowers, etc. to earn some money, as well as help me decide on my career direction.  I was extremely lucky to have work experience with Annabel Williams in the Lake District and Damien Lovegrove in Bristol, who are both very well known lifestyle photographers.  I also went on a Course with Annabel, run by Catherine Connor and Jane Breakwell, who now run Aspire Photography Training – this really decided the direction I was going to take, as I loved being outside photographing children in a natural environment.

However, before I had a chance to finish my Degree, I met my husband and ended up with an HND instead!  We soon had two beautiful daughters for me to practice on and Caroline Blunt Photography was born!  Now the children are at school I have more time to concentrate on my photography career, which is why my website has finally been updated!

I will try and keep you posted with some of my current work, and if you have the time would really appreciate any comments, good or bad!
